The University has categorized academically into two schools and three colleges. William L. Ridgway College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and Health Sciences, College of Engineering and Computer Science, and the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration make up the colleges of the university.
Students of the University have an option to study abroad at the "British Campus of the University of Evansville," or the Harlaxton College. The college was formerly run by Stanford University and is located in Lincolnshire, England. Up to now, the study abroad programs of the University has been ranked as one of the best study programs in the US and ranks number 7 internationally. |
The theater program of the University showcases four main stage and two studio productions every year. Theater actors of the University have had more chances to perform at The Kennedy Center than other universities or colleges in the country. The University participates and competes in NCAA Division I. It is also an affiliate of the Missouri Valley Conference. The athletics department of the University of Evansville aims to provide opportunities for its athletes to take part at the Division I level without compromising quality education, adhering to the academic mission of the University. The experiences they get in competing are considered an extension of the classroom educational process where they can acquire skill and self-confidence in reaching their full potential, in athletics and personal life. The athletic teams of the University are also known as the Purple Aces.
The University has an active Greek Life program where 29 percent of students actively join each year. Every fraternity and sorority on the campus gladly welcomes everyone who sees themselves "fit" to the group's ideas and various activities. In total, the University has over 155 Greek community and student organizations. Some of the sororities and fraternities include Chi Omega, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Alpha Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Phi Gamma Delta.
